Contact: privacy@softquit.app
These Terms govern your use of the SoftQuit app and website. By installing, signing in, or using SoftQuit you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
The service
SoftQuit provides a gradual Control plan for quitting masturbation, awareness check-in nudges, Urge Breakers, an optional Shield blocklist, Social Pause, and progress tracking. Features, including Shield blocking and Social Pause app lock, differ by platform. Android can enforce Shield via an on-device VPN and Social Pause via Accessibility. On iPhone those tools are lists, timers, and guides to Screen Time. We change features as we improve the product.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 to use SoftQuit. The product is meant for adults working on a private habit. You are responsible for following the laws where you live.
Your account
You must sign in with Google or email. You are responsible for activity under your session. Keep your password and device lock private. When you create an account we send a one-time welcome email. You can log out from Profile. You can delete your account from Profile → Delete Account, or by emailing privacy@softquit.app. See Delete your account for what deletion removes.
Permissions you grant
Shield, Social Pause, notifications, and app lock stay off until you turn them on. Turning them on grants SoftQuit permission to:
- Run an on-device VPN / DNS filter for Shield (Android)
- Use Accessibility only to block apps you selected during Social Pause (Android)
- Read the list of launchable apps so you can pick what to lock (Android)
- Schedule local notifications and alarms you opted into
You can turn these off in the app or in system settings.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- Use SoftQuit unless you are eligible
- Try to bypass Shield or Social Pause to harm someone else, or to hide illegal activity
- Probe, scrape, or disrupt our servers or other users’ accounts
- Copy, reverse engineer, or resell the app except as allowed by law
We suspend or delete accounts that break these rules.
Not medical advice
SoftQuit is a habit tool for general self-improvement. It is not a diagnosis, treatment, or substitute for professional care. Talk to a clinician for medical or mental-health help.
Changes to the service
We add, change, or remove features. We do not promise uninterrupted service.
Limitation
The app is provided as-is. To the extent allowed by law, SoftQuit is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app, including missed blocks, failed pauses, or data loss.
Changes to these terms
We update these terms. The Last updated date changes. Using the app after an update means you accept the new terms.
